Thurne is Back!

In some regards, the more things change the more they remain the same. For instance, when Thurne was formed in 1967, it quickly gained a reputation for innovative engineering and began producing high speed bacon slicers. Though decades have passed, the Thurne passion and focus on bacon slicing remains. Today’s Thurne slicing systems clearly enjoy a well deserved reputation as a bacon industry frontrunner.

From its beginning, Thurne was quick to embrace and pioneer the then new vision and computer technologies, which – when combined – produced machines that gave bacon, cheese and cooked meat processors substantial savings and productivity gains.

In 2011, the company released the IBS4600, the world’s first bacon slicer incorporating four independent feeds and blades with vision technology, revolutionizing precooked bacon processing.
